Hailing from Australia, Mortasha began DJing early 80s music at Sydney’s “retro” club, becoming resident DJ for 2 years. She was a regular at Sydney’s Electric Ballroom and Kontrol clubs, spinning goth and post-punk tunes. Mortasha has travelled extensively, also living in Los Angeles and Letterkenny, before a permanent move to London.
Mortasha has played guest sets at the Reptile, Reformation, Sunday Lullaby, Dark Disco, Shadows of the Crypt, Shadows of the Caves and The Dark Eighties club nights in London, Transcendence, Bazooka, Sanctuary and Atomic in Sydney, The New Order in Melbourne, Goth is Back in Tel Aviv, Into The Void in Milan, The Love Cats in Paris, When Were Young official afterparty at Wave Gotik Treffen festival in Leipzig, Return to the Batcave festival official afterparty in Wrocław, Elysium: A Gothic Wedding in Nürnberg, Underworld in Dublin, Goth Night in Raleigh and A Murder of Crows festival, About to Cry and The Red Party in New York. During the pandemic she has streamed at least weekly on her Twitch channel, with regular streams being Isolation, Babes of the Eighties, No Name No Genre, Sunday’s Slave and Maudlin Midweek. She was made a Twitch Partner in January 2021 and continues to stream weekly or bi-weekly.
Mortasha brings a classic sense of goth style to the dark dance floor, playing a mix of recent and classic goth, post-punk, dark wave, minimal wave, bat cave and cold wave tunes. She loves seeing people dancing.
Mortasha is celebrating 30 years of DJing in 2026. The Belfry is her quarterly club night, held Downstairs at The Albany Hotel, Great Portland Street, London. The Belfry will be on Saturday 4th July and Saturday 3rd October, 2026.
